NOTE: These model agreements can only be used for research agreements with BC universities. These agreements cannot be used for contracts that do not involve research. Due to the peculiarity of the provisions of these agreements, the clauses should NOT be extracted into other contracts or agreements. The following reference documents and model agreements will assist government staff in understanding and preparing research agreements with BC universities. Please read these documents before entering into a research agreement between the province and the university. The objectives of this series of reference documents and model agreements are as follows: A sponsor may agree to use the university`s standard SRA (Cost Reimbursable) or an SRA Standard University (fixed price). A Sponsored Research Agreement (SRA) is a contract between the university and a sponsor for the purpose of funding and conducting research at the university. An SRA may receive funding from for-profit organizations (for example. B from the private sector) or non-profit (national or federal government, foundations, etc.) Sponsors. These reference documents and related resources address situations where the Province of British Columbia has entered into a direct agreement with a university (or university) to conduct research in an area directly related to the ministry`s individual priorities, directions or mandates.

Specifically, PIs and potential private sponsors can contact the OIE for more information on research projects funded at the university.
